Happy 8th of July!

Okay so maybe I'm a little late on this post, but I started it on Sunday I swear!! Okay so this past weekend was great for many reasons but mostly because it was a 3 day weekend for both Casey and myself! We hardly ever have days off at the same time so it was nice getting to sleep in 3 days in a row. On Thursday night Casey and I went over to Chris and Jessica's to hang out and play some board games with them as well as Eddie and Andrew. Not to brag but Jessica and I beat the guys at everything because we're awesome. LOL! I love game nights! On Friday morning Casey and I woke up and did some much needed weeding in the front garden and then cleaned around the house and did some shopping. Friday night we went over to the Yerby's house again to play poker and I'll just say it was not the best time we've ever had but we were glad that Chris and Austin were there to keep the comedic relief coming! Saturday morning (July 4th) we slept in until 12:30! We NEVER do that but it felt amazing to not have to be anywhere and not have anything really to do. We finally got up and cleaned around the house and yard for the party that night. People started coming over at around 7ish and we had a great time eating summer food, playing ping pong and horseshoes, and watching fireworks... one thing we did not have fun doing? Watching Casey, Andrew, and Chris put our neighbors grass fire out because the idiots were doing huge fireworks in their BACKYARD. Yes on the grass that hadn't seen rain in 2 months that they don't water. Yes when there was a burn ban and fireworks ban. Yes they are idiots. Also- SUBNOTE: When we called 911 NOBODY ANSWERED!!! TWICE!! Is that not crazy or what?? They finally called us back an hour or so later and asked if everything was okay, but what if Casey and Chris couldn't have put it out?? That's just unacceptable. We finally got a firetruck and constable out there an hour and a half later, but better safe than sorry when checking to make sure a fire is fully out. On Sunday we just relaxed most of the day and got stuff ready for the road trip we are going on tomorrow. We also went over to Casey's parents house for dinner, brisket - YUM!

This week has been pretty laid back so far and we got some MUCH needed rain yesterday. THANK THE LORD! The pond in front of our house was so low!! Tonight we have to finish packing, take the dogs over to Chris and Jessica's and then it's off to Virginia tomorrow morning. I will try to blog while we're there or at least on the way back.
