Just got done observing Jennifer Mawer at Feist Elementary and I was really wowed! Mawer is an AMAZING teacher and her kids absolutely love her. She is exactly the kind of teacher I want to be and I will definitely be observing her more. Right now I am in the drive thru line at Chick-fil-a to pick up Jennifer and I some lunch and then back to The Woodlands to work. Gotta love text blogging right?

Cinco de Mayo?

So I'm on my lunch break and I decided I would go ahead and start this blog entry because if I don't do it now - it'll be days before I can get a chance to blog. Today is Cinco de Mayo (I just realized that like two minutes ago) so I am trying to figure out something to cook for dinner besides tacos or enchiladas- any ideas out there? This week is going to be a craaaazy busy week (I know I say that all the time, but life is busy these days) and yesterday was already busy busy busy. After a long day of work and running errands on my lunch break, Casey called and asked if I wanted to go see the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie - this is a no brainer- I freaking love X-Men! We went with Chris, Matt Vogt, and Andrew and it was a FANTASTIC movie. Tomorrow I FINALLY start my Alternative Certification class and I am very excited, but nervous. I know it's going to be a lot of work, but I am ready for that and the only thing I am really worried about is balancing this class with my already busy life. I just applied for three jobs today, 2 at Nitsch Elementary and 1 at Galatas Elementary so please pray for me to get a job for the fall. This weekend coming up my parents are coming in town for Mother's Day and I'm getting baptized on Sunday.

Okay now it's the evening - I couldn't finish the blog on my lunch break so here I am again. I completely forgot that I hadn't uploaded pictures from this weekend with Sara and I will try to do that tonight or tomorrow. That's all for now!

FRIDAY!

It is going to be a GREAT weekend! Today I am off of work because I worked an extra shift this week - so I slept in a little and now I am just trying to get stuff together for this weekend. Today my best friend Sara Baker is coming in for the weekend and tonight we are going to see Dave Matthews Band! DMB is her favorite band and is in my top 3 favorite bands and is one of the things that kindled our friendship. Oddly enough, we have both been to several DMB concerts, but never together- weird huh? Anyway, that will be super fun. Right now I am waiting on the pest guy to get here because they sprayed last week and then all of a sudden we had little black ants in our house? We didn't have them BEFORE they came and sprayed... not normal.

Okay now for more important things in the world: SWINE FLU. First of all - yes I think this whole epidemic is pretty scary, but do I think the media is blowing it out of proportion? YES. Do I think that schools should be shut down? Yes. But when it comes down to it, it is the flu, and the flu can be treated. The little boy who died in Houston this week had prior health problems and was a BABY. His immune system probably wasn't strong enough to fight off the bug with his other health problems, and while this is tragic, this is not SARS or Ebola and I don't think that it poses that big of a threat to the general population. Now- this being said, could I be wrong? Absolutely, but I hope I'm not. Anyway- that's just my opinion on this whole situation.

I will hopefully be able to update tomorrow with some pics from tonight (even though cameras are not allowed!).
