Baby's First Easter

Ellie's First Easter weekend was spent with her mama, daddy, Pop, Grandma, Nona, and PawPaw!  We had a great time at the church carnival on Saturday:

Then a wonderful Easter Sunday was spent at Trinity Lutheran Church followed by Easter dinner at Grammie and Pop's.  Ellie had a beautiful dress on.  A very beautiful dress.  Then of course she had a blowout RIGHT before picture taking time and we had to change her.  That was the first fail of the day.  I was literally in tears over this.  As a mom it is MY job to make sure all the firsts are documented and now we have ZERO pictures of her in her first Easter dress.  :(   BUT - Casey's mom, AKA Grammie, came to the rescue with an adorable outfit for Ellie.  We put her in it and got Chad from next door to take pictures with Casey's dad's fancy camera.  Luckily I also asked Casey's dad to take pictures of the three of us because low and behold - fail #2 - the pictures Chad was taking weren't really taken.  I guess he didn't hold the button down far enough.  :(

Even though there isn't a ton of pictures from the day, we still had a wonderful time at church (what an AMAZING service Trinity had) and a nice Easter dinner with the family.

3 Months

Height: 24 1/2 inches Weight: 12.5 lbs!
Dr. Kozak says she's a little skinny, but not underweight by any means. She's just long for her weight.

-Elle has moved on from Mr. Fan and Mr. Lamp - she is now obsessed with Elton the Elephant (a toy in her playpen) and the colored "poofs" above the glider in her room. She gets so distracted by them when I feed her.
-Kitty is still #1, but she is now taking other kinds of pacis - yay!
- Ellie can lift her head completely now when doing tummy time and loves to look around. She has been rolling over for a while, but now it's very consistent and intentional.
-Lately she's hit a bit of a slump when it comes to sleeping. For the last two weeks she's been waking up in the middle of her nap time and also several times during the night which is NOT like her at all. Hopefully she will go back to normal soon.
-She GIGGLES! Casey was the recipient of Eleanor's first official laugh. She's laughed a bit before but NOTHING like she did for her daddy when they were doing "super baby" (you know, holding her above his head and zooming her around?). It was a full on giggly, fun, laugh. So sweet!
-She loves to talk! She could just babble and babble all day long. I wonder where she gets that from?

Bluebonnets

Today we attempted to take photos of Eleanor in the bluebonnets. She wasn't a fan of the heat or the bugs so we couldn't get a smile out of her. Maybe tomorrow we can try again.

My heart feels like it will literally burst at any moment every time I see this sweet face. I never knew that this type of love existed. Being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

St. Patrick's Day

No green beer for this mama this year! Today Casey and I spent most of the day playing catch up on things around the house and tackling our jungle of a backyard. We also bathed and shaved the pups. We are so exciting these days.
I did dress Ellie up for the day and got several adorable pictures of her. Yay for memories!!




For dinner we went to Red Robin and as I surveyed the other patrons I noticed that literally every table had at least one child in their party. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I love kids and all but I was thankful to not be a waitress at Red Robin last night. The cacophony (SAT word?) of kid screams was deafening and I have a pretty high tolerance for kid screams.

House hunted.. and lost

Yesterday we put an offer on a house, but found out this morning we were a day late. The sellers accepted an offer yesterday. :( I guess it wasn't meant to be our house.
