Oh so tired...

I really hate being tired and sick with this beautiful weather. For the past week I have been cooped up inside because I have had some kind of disgusting sinus infection thing. I am miserable and all I want to do is go play outside or take a nice run. BLAH!

...and Baby Makes Three!

Yes it's true! No April Fool's this time!

We found out on Easter weekend that we are expecting our first child and we are due on Christmas!
How crazy that the two holiest days of the year will bring/have brought us so much joy!?

I have been bursting at the seams to share this joyous news, but alas I have been told several times to "be careful" and not to get too excited because "anything could happen". I hate that I haven't felt comfortable enough to scream it from the rooftop, but at this stage in the game, I've decided that it's our life and what happens happens. Having said that I am still very afraid of the big "M".

So far I have been experiencing some pretty intense morning sickness (aka "all day sickness"), serious exhaustion, and an overall icky feeling. My face has exploded with blemishes making me look like an adolescent meth addict and my entire head region is an oil factory. Delightful. I'm still waiting for this "pregnancy glow" that everyone talks about. Hopefully I will feel better soon because I want to be full of energy and life to prepare for the next 8 months.

We had our first sonogram on May 23rd and it was incredible. As soon as I saw the heartbeat I started crying. What an incredible blessing. Casey and his mom were there as well and it was such a cool moment that we got to experience together. I love love love our obstetrician and I am looking forward to working with her (plus she's a fellow blogger so that's cool). Baby Page's heartbeat was 160 and it was even moving around and waving at us. It was a truly incredible experience.. I just can't say that enough. We're going to be parents... WOW!

Easter bunny surprise #1...

On Tuesday night I said goodbye to "Fiona the Focus"...



and Hello to "Esther the Escape"


Fiona was a GREAT car and she will be missed but it's really nice having an SUV again. Not to mention the fact that it has SYNC and a sunroof! Whoo hoo!

Fiona had been getting up there in miles (almost 102K) and never had any major issues. She was a fun little car to drive and I teared up a little as I said goodbye to her. With the bite marks on the emergency brake from when Riley was a puppy and the little ding in the back from the freak tornado storm that came through when we were visiting Casey's grandparents in Virginia... there were a lot of memories in that car. We had been looking for an Escape for a while, but finally found a great deal on this one so it turned into an Easter Surprise! Welcome Esther and Farewell Fiona!

April - Wowza.. what a month! Here are the highlights...

April 1 - I played a really funny/mean April Fool's joke on my class. Okay I know what you're thinking "Why on Earth would she play a mean joke on Kindergartners???" In all fairness, my little friends were pulling pranks on me all day so they totally deserved it! So here's what I did.. I sat them down and told them that today was my last day as their teacher because Mr. Casey (that's what my kiddos call him) had been transferred and we had to move. They all started looking really sad so I yelled "APRIL FOOLS!!" They cracked up and started going "AHHHH YOU GOT US!!", "MRS. PAGE!! THAT WAS A BAD JOKE!!!", and of course the few saying "I KNEW YOU WERE JOKING, I KNEW IT WASN'T A FOR REAL JOKE!"

April 2 - 1st Annual Willbern Elementary Carnival! Casey and I volunteered to help at the Chick Fil A booth (gotta be near the yummy food!) and I loved getting to see all my kiddos from last year and their parents. What a fun day! I even rode a ride with my former student and HUGS buddy Raven! Here is a pic of me and my sweet Raven:


April 8 - Casey had an interview for the supervisor training program and got it! He will be possibly interviewing for jobs in Houston, Austin, Denver, Salt Lake City, Tennessee, and Seattle so keep him in your prayers.

Amy and I also went to Opening Day at Minute Maid to see the Astros play the Mariners. Amy is such a sweet friend and is my favorite friend to watch baseball with because she's so knowledgeable. Here are some pictures!




April 9 - Melissa and Zach came through town so we had dinner at Pappasito's with them and then hung out for a while at our house. I always love hanging out with Melissa because we have so much in common. We've been great friends since high school and I love that she found such a wonderful guy to call her husband.


April 10 - Megan's Bridal Shower! I co-hosted a bridal shower for my beautiful friend Megan! She wanted a Garden Party theme so I tried to give them best garden party shower I could. It turned out sooooooooo cute and we had a blast.


April 16 - Marathon Woman! I ran my first half marathon in Bastrop, Texas. What an amazing experience. Originally I was supposed to run it with my friend Jennifer, but she had to cancel at the last minute. I was really really scared to do this by myself, but I just made a goal of finishing in 3 hours 30 minutes (the max) so that I could say "YES I HAVE finished a half marathon!" instead of "One time I attempted a half marathon.. it was awful". Well boy did I surprise myself! I didn't train nearly as much as I wanted to, so when I got to the race I had really only ran 5 miles straight.. no more. When the race started I just went! I RAN the first 10 miles! No walking! I was so proud of myself! The last 3.1 were a different story. I hurt SO bad! I walked most of the last 3 which is why my time wasn't as good as it could have been. I finished in 2h49m which is almost an hour faster that I had hoped for - whoo hoo! I would definitely recommend doing the Zooma race to any women especially if you want to have a fun girls' weekend! I can't wait to do it next year!

April 19 - HAIRCUT! I have been waiting 5 years to cut my hair short and I finally did it! Here is my new look...


April 22 - Riley's Birthday & Megan and Todd get married! For those of you who don't know, April 22nd is our beloved Riley's birthday and he turned 6 this year! Oh how time flies.. I miss our sweet little baby puppy, but he is such a great dog and always makes us laugh. On Saturday my dad, Casey, and I took Riley & Zac to Petsmart so Riley could pick out some toys and see the "hammies" (hamsters, fish, guinea pigs, birds.. anything in a small cage or tank). He is obsessed...


Friday evening Adriane and I went to our beautiful former coworker Megan's wedding. It was the sweetest little country wedding with a few personalized touches during the ceremony. It was great to see Meg so happy. Here are some pics.




April 24th - Easter! My dad came in town to spend Easter weekend with us and it was a very nice relaxing weekend.

I am super excited about the ones I just ordered (I love getting packages in the mail, even if I'm expecting them) and I can't wait to wear them!

Shoe # 1: Reebok RunTones

I waited soooo long to get these shoes. If you don't know this about me, I am very cheap frugal. I really don't like paying more than $30 for well... anything. If I have to spend more than $30 on a single item I really have to think about it. $50, I usually will leave the store and come back the next day if I still want it. $100... forget about it. I usually just hope I get those items for Christmas or Birthday and don't buy them otherwise. So when I saw the ads for the Reebok EasyTones and then for the Reebok RunTones, it pained me to not buy them right away. Not that I thought by putting on these shoes that I was immediately going to lose 10 lbs, but I really liked the way they looked and if they helped my butt look better while I was running.. well that was just great! So I asked for Visa gift cards and gift cards to Foot Locker for my birthday last year and then set out to find a pair that I liked. Normally I'm a pink/purple shoe kind of girl but this time I went with my childhood favorite color "Cerulean". I also looooove that they are grey because my adult favorite "color" is grey. Love these! The outfit I wore with these was running clothes as I just finished running 6.5 miles with Andi - whoo hoo! I was really proud of myself and it made me feel better about the half marathon that I talked myself into signing up for in April so yeah! We ran on the George Mitchell Nature Preserve trail and it was really nice. It made me feel like I wasn't in the middle of Suburbia, even though I was. Here are my babies!

Shoe Project 365

Have you heard of Project 365? That's when you take a picture every day and blog about it. Taking a picture, uploading, and posting daily is not an option for me (although it would be super fun!), but as I stared at my closet and finally counted the ridiculous amount of shoes I have (who needs 86 pairs of shoes?!?) I decided that in a quest to purge the shoes that I never wear/never will wear as well as get use out of more than just the 10 pairs I normally circulate, I will catalog each time I wear a different pair of shoes over the next year. Obviously I don't have 365 pairs of shoes so that will give me a little leeway in when I will post, but hopefully this will be a fun project for a shoe lover like myself. Here we go!
